Gaptooth is a London, UK-based electro-pop artist, producing lyrically sharp, politically charged tunes inspired by everything from Le Tigre to Little Dragon, Portishead to P!nk and Belle and Sebastian to Bikini Kill. She released her debut single, feminist indie dance track ‘Ladykillers’, in 2012. Gaptooth’s second single ‘Enduring Freedom’ is a duet with Oli Horton, lead singer of synth pop band Trademark, and will be released worldwide on 29 July 2013.
As well as writing and performing, Gaptooth is an experienced studio engineer, and co-produces her music with A Scholar and a Physician (Foals, Chicks on Speed, MC Lars, Piney Gir). While studying politics at Oxford University she worked for indie label Truck Records and ran the successful Oxford indie/electro club night Chicks With Decks.
‘Enduring Freedom’ is taken from Gaptooth’s debut album, due for release in Autumn 2013. The single also features a remix by Trademark and a synth pop cover version of 1969 Mama Cass hit ‘Make Your Own Kind of Music’.
