By the end of December 2009, Santiago Rubio (percussion and electronic processes) and David Angulo (guitar and synths) get together to start a project so they could conjugate their different tastes in music, which included Indie Rock, Electroclash, Trip Hop, Synth Pop and Hardcore, among others. A short time later, the bassist Jonathan Moncada and singer Paula Hoyos join the project, starting the first stage where the group played covers of AIR, Portishead, Radiohead and The Sounds, showing the wide range of genres that they were prepared to assimilate and the musical versatility that the project enjoyed. Parallel to this, the process of musical composition was starting, emerging tracks such us “Moon Playground” and “Crononauta” –the former with a noticeable electronic component and the last one with a more Indie Rock air-. From there on, they decided to give a more conceptual approach to the band lyrics, where the composed songs would deal with the fictitious experiences of SIR ADAM, a time and space traveler. This encouraged them to compose “Mensaje del desierto” and “Metros bajo tierra”, songs that relate the encounter of SIR ADAM with his eternal nemesis. During this first stage, the band played twice on stage, and to do so they appealed to the help of the second guitar Carlos Andres Delgado. After this, the band goes through a process of change in which both Jonathan Moncada and Paula Hoyos leave the project, and Carlos Andres Delgado becomes a fixed member. This swerve makes that SIR ADAM explores a more instrumental and electronic period (with sampled basses and voices) which gave rise to tracks such as “Esquizofrenia”, “Beck”, “Bipolar” and “Oasis”. From 2012, the band has collaborated with many local artist such as Andrés Rodelo and Juliana Puerta (vocals), Vanesa Gañán (Vj) and Juan Camilo Montoya (bass).
